The action of the play passes in the study of a country vicarage in the early 1970s.

To be honest, I'm not convinced that all of these pictures come from the same production, although they were all labelled as such in the archive box. The above pictures are obviously correct, as one can see from the newspaper cutting. However, those below seem to feature at least one, if not two, totally different sets.

Hopefully somebody will be able to identify either the productions, or the individuals, or both. Unfortunately, the failure to give proper credit to the person who played Col. Protheroe does not help. Presumably the director had experienced some difficulty in casting this role, and had not done so at the time that the programmes were printed. The reviewer obviously relied on the programme for his information, as he doesn't give credit to the colonel either. Frank Gettley, as stage manager, should read Frank Kettley.

Regardless of the accuracy, or otherwise, of the photographic record, this play does introduce us to a number of new faces, including Lynda Leigh, who would make a substantial contribution to the life of the Players over the coming years.
